Coach Information
Becoming a coach
Thank you so much for your interest in coaching! Thanks to volunteers like you, KASL is able to provide soccer programs to more than one thousand kids per year. As coach, you get to choose the practice day(s)/time/location and also request one game day bye request. Please note, your requested bye weekend will be made up as a double header or Sunday game.
Steps
- Register as a volunteer When registering your child, the system will ask if you are interested in a volunteer position. Choose “Yes, I am” and indicate which one (head coach, assistant coach, team manager). You will answer a few short questions before submitting.
- Within one week or so, WYSA will approve the registration and send an email with a link to complete your background check. Do NOT submit an additional background check via the online learning portal (where you complete your trainings).
- Follow this guide to complete your required online SafeSport trainings via the US Soccer Learning Center.
- You will be added to a team roster by the administrator and be able to view your team assignment in PlayMetrics.
- Communicate practice schedule (location/day/time of week) and (optional) game day bye request to [email protected]. This helps with adding kids to teams and preparing schedules.
- Reach out to your parents after the coaches meeting each season and begin practice!
